Getting our Christmas tree
Saturday, December 6th, 2008Well yesterday afternoon my hubby pulled out our Christmas Tree from storage and took it out of the box. We’ve had that tree for about the past fifteen years. I freaked out because there was a huge mouse nest in the box; it was full of shredded tissue and sunflower seeds and mouse droppings!
I would not even let him pull the tree out of the box – I freaked out very sweetly but strongly encouraged him to put the whole thing out with the trash and suggested that we buy a new tree this weekend. So we will be going off to buy our new tree in a few minutes. This puts us a little bit behind schedule for getting it up and decorated, but we’ll just have to deal with it.
I’m hoping to buy a smaller tree, one that is pre-lit. That will save us a lot of aggravation regarding stringing lights on the tree! Our old tree wasn’t a pre-lit tree, so it took several hours to string the lights. Isn’t technology wonderful – being able to buy a pre-lit artificial tree!
Oh – and rest assured we will be buying some mouse traps while we’re shopping!
