My sister called me and asked me for some ideas on what to get her mother-in-law for a mother’s day gift.  I told her that I think it would be really nice if she sent her a gift card to her favorite restaurant and a nice vase of flowers.  I think that she was a little bit disappointed with my response because she tends to expect me to come up with very creative and crafty ideas for things.  But I really don’t know her mother-in-law well enough to be able to suggest a particular clever and crafty thing to give her!  And there is one thing I know for sure, most women LOVE flowers.

I suggested that she buy the “Pearls of Wisdom” gardenia potted plant from the 1800flowers.com website.  I like the idea that it symbolizes the fact that she gives good advice!  And gardenias smell so pretty that I’m sure she would love it!  And, being a potted plant, it will continue to grow instead of wither and die.  I think you can’t go wrong with that!

Or something exotic looking like the Martha Stewart coral azalea topiary plant!  Whenever I see something like that it makes me think of the Alice in Wonderland story; it is simply fantastic looking!

I’ve noticed whenever I go somewhere and have to use a computer for some reason, that the computer that is provided to me to use tends to NOT have any kind of wrist rest. I’ve gotten very sore wrists as a result, and now I bring a purse-sized package of facial tissue with me wherever I go so I can use THAT as a temporary wrist wrest for the mouse if I need to use it. It makes a great temporary wrist rest! Pretty clever, right?

As Mother’s Day approaches, I find that my hubby and I have been discussing what kinds of Mother’s Day gifts to buy for our respective mothers.  We’ve already bought the cards that we are going to send to them.  I’d love to send my mother some flowers but I’ve never been able to do that because she has horrible allergies that prohibit sending flowers to her.  Maybe some new pretty lingerie in the way of a new nightgown would please her.

My hubby has asked me what I’d like for Mother’s Day, and I told him that I’d like a new lilac shrub to plant in our yard.  Lilacs are one of my favorite flowering shrubs.   I remember as a teenager I found a cologne that smelled like lilacs and that was the only cologne I would wear for months on end!  But I expect my hubby will probably buy me some flowers or lingerie also.  He tends to do that every year.

I’ve been wanting to have my fortune told for the past several years. I had it told a few times about twenty years ago, and I found it very interesting. Since then I’ve moved to another state (which was NOT foretold) and would like to see what the area’s “psychics” have to say to me. I like to write down what they “foretell” and then later go back and see what actually came true or didn’t come true. Have you had any experience with fortune telling? I’d love to hear about them!
