So here I am, in the middle of sewing a new scarf, and the bobbin binds up. Well, I’ve had that happen before, it’s usually no big deal. I just take a few pieces apart and remove the thread, put it back together and I’m on my way. Not this time! I can’t get all of the parts off that I need to take off. I asked my hubby for help; he couldn’t do it either! What a bother! I don’t know where any local sewing machine repair shops are! And I don’t want to have to take my machine and drop it off somewhere and wait for repairs. (Sigh.) Well, I called the local fabric store and asked them where I can take my machine to have it fixed. Would you believe the local hardware store? That’s a surprise!

So, machine is now in the hands of the repairman, and I’m annoyed. I love that little machine and although I have a back-up machine, I don’t like it as well. So now that I’m in the mood to sew, my favorite machine is in the shop, and it will cost me at least $60 to have it fixed! GRRRRR…….

I don’t understand why I have such a hard time finding shoes that I like in the local stores.  Possibly because there aren’t very many shoe stores in the area, possibly because I wear an odd size shoe.  Whatever the case, I am always on the lookout for a good pair of shoes that fit, and a good price.  When I find that magic combination I’m inclined to buy more than one pair of the shoes because I never know when I’ll find another pair that I like that fits me!  Because I have such a hard time finding them locally, I am frequently looking for great online shoes and handbags promotions.

I find it interesting how many Famous Footwear stores there are, and yet when I go in to buy shoes in the stores I can’t seem to find my size.  I think I must have a very “popular” size foot!  So sometimes I’ll go to the brick and mortar store and find a shoe that I like and then end up buying it off of their website.

When I do go shopping online, I try to find online coupons and discounts as much as possible. And of course, free shipping is a big plus! One of the best ways to find the best deals is to use the bestonlinecoupons.com website. They list promotions and discounts to all of my favorite stores!

One of the things I enjoy doing in my spare time is sewing. I like to sew a variety of things; lately I’ve been focusing on dancing costumes. My sister and I have started to take some belly dancing classes and we are having a great time. It’s great exercise, and we have a good time taking the class together. We share a lot of laughs. We’ve found that we want a few basic costume items – hip scarves and dancing veils and since I enjoy sewing I have bought some fabric and been working on them. I’ve created a couple of veils, and today was my first hip scarf. I found the directions on the Internet by googling “how to make a belly dancing hip scarf.” I followed the directions pretty closely and it came out pretty good. It took most of the day to do it; I expect the next one will be quicker.
