Susan is moving to Houston

Friday, July 17th, 2009

My sister-in-law called this morning to tell us that she is moving to Houston next month. She’s been given a great job offer at a large Houston hospital and it means a promotion and huge pay raise that she just can’t refuse. So she’s planning to rent a Houston Apartment for a while to see how she likes it down there before making any kind of commitment to purchasing a place.

Narrowing down the searching

I really enjoy finding and buying things that my family needs, but I really get tired of looking and looking and looking.  Does that make any sense to you?  I like the search for the perfect item to be short and sweet.  It would be great to be able to just speak out loud exactly what it is you want and then “pouf” it appears!  Like having a magic genii in a bottle!

One of the most frustrating experiences that I’ve had with shopping is finding what you want, but not in your size!  I can remember searching for months to find the right size, style, and color cardigan sweater a few years ago!  That’s why I’m always delighted to find web sites like everystyle.co.uk.  With that site you can easily use their search engine to find your size in clothes such as cardigans, playsuits, cheap dresses, cheap T-shirts and even sale jeans.  This feature makes it quick and easy to find exactly what you want in the right size!

I was so delighted

Several years ago my stepmother was moving to a smaller house, and she asked me if there was anything in her “old” house that I would like to have.  She had a couple of butcherblock tables and wicker chairs in her sunroom that I have always admired.  I told her that I would absolutely LOVE to have that set!  Well, she actually let me have the set – the two tables and all of the chairs – but she only had seven chairs!  She said that they had all been falling apart and so they cannibalized one chair to fix the other seven.  So for several years I’ve only had the seven chairs.  Odd, but better than no chairs!

Yesterday I went to a local thrift store and found a matching chair to that set for only $3.00!  I was thrilled!  It was only a matter of seconds before that chair was paid for and in my car, heading for home.  Now I have the complete set and I am as happy as a pig in mud!
