Beat feet
Tuesday, December 1st, 2009I can remember as a child I didn’t pay much attention to the shoes that I wore. I was perfectly happy in sneakers or sandals most of the time. Those types of shoes are easy to wear, the shoes seem to be quite forgiving as to adapting to the size of the wearer’s foot. It wasn’t until I became a young adult and was forced to wear “real shoes” that I realized that finding comfortable shoes was going to be a lifelong search.
Apparently I have been cursed with extra wide, short feet, with high arches. The most comfortable shoes I am able to find in stores are usually men’s sneakers! That’s all well and good if I’m dressing casually, but wearing men’s shoes and trying to pass them off as dress shoes just takes a lot more finesse than I really have! I can remember searching for months for a pair of wedding shoes that actually looked and felt good. For a while I thought I might have to elope because I just couldn’t find shoes that fit!
To this day, I dread shoe shopping. But I will say that I have discovered that Reebok shoes tend to fit me better than most other brands of running shoes, so I try to find places that sell Reebok shoes.
